Belmont Center Branch Library May Festival: Fun for kids and adults

May 10, 2007 – The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County (PLCMC) presents the Seventh Annual Belmont Center Branch Library May Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19.

Always a crowd pleaser, this year’s Belmont Center May Festival includes loads of activities for kids, books for sale at rock bottom prices, 1970s “old school” music and free food from Mert’s Heart and Soul. The theme Embracing the Community honors James and Reneé Bazzelle of Mert’s Heart and Soul for their continuing support to the community and to the Public Library.

The festival is also known for its “Authors’ Corner,” which features talented local writers. This year’s line up is an enterprising group whose stories will inspire and enlighten:
· Lenora Adams, author of the young adult novel, Baby Girl (2007) Simon & Schuster
· Joel Bryant, UNC Charlotte philosophy instructor and author of the Diary of a Dreamer ™ Series
· Pat J. Schulz, CEO of ENHEART Publishing and author of Making Sweet Lemonade (2007)

The Belmont Center Branch Library is located on 700 Parkwood Ave. in the Belmont Neighborhood Center. For more information contact Kutricia Spann at (704) 336-2470.

Founded in 1903 as a Carnegie Free Library, PLCMC provides community service and outreach to the citizens of the Charlotte area.
