Media Advisory: Reception to recognize English Tutoring Program graduates
What:
- A reception to recognize graduates of the English Tutoring Program (ETP).
- The ETP is a collaborative program of the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County and International House to help internationals learn English.
- Graduates of the ETP program are now one step further should they decide to pursue citizenship.
- The Public Library will demonstrate their new online language software offering: Mango Languages.
- Speaker: Dr. John Chen, Vice-Chairman of the Carolinas Asian American Chamber of Commerce
Dr. Chen is also the founder of the CAACC's Dragon Boat Festival which occurs during the annual Asian Festival every June. Other positions in which Dr. Chen serves include: Baoding Chair of Charlotte Sister Cities; Board member - Chinese American Association of Charlotte; Citizen Advisory Council, Park and Recreation Department; Dr. Chen formerly worked with the Celanese and SciMAT companies.
- Light refreshments. Free and open to the public.
