Planned Support
There are three basic categories of planned gifts:
- Bequests
- Charitable trusts
- Donor advised funds
They are called ‘planned gifts’ for a reason. With each there is almost always a fair amount of planning based on conditions relevant to each individual donor. For example, what assets are being considered for the gift, i.e. appreciated stock, real estate, or life insurance. As planned gifts often provide income for the donor, what are the donor’s requirements? As tax and estate planning issues vary from donor to donor, what are the r goals and objectives of the donor?
You may already be a donor to PLCMC. Acknowledging the great value of a strong and responsive library, perhaps you already give your time or your talent and/or a financial gift. Please know that the Library is grateful for any and all support and that we welcome the opportunity to work with you as you consider a ‘planned gift’ opportunity.
Of course, you’ll want to consult with your estate planner and/or attorney as you consider a planned gift to PLCMC. You’ll be pleased to know that we work closely with the professionals at the Foundation For The Carolinas to assure that all planned gifts are accepted and processed with the utmost respect for and in the best interest of the donor.
For more information please contact Karen Beach or Dick Pahle in the Library’s development office. You may contact us via telephone at (704) 416-0617 or (704) 416-0619.
