The Main Library's Children's Room moved to ImaginOn in September 2005, leaving 14,000 sq ft of space to experiment with to see what services and programs would attract library users. Previously the Popular Library had offered all of the popular media as well as the fiction collection, creating a crowded space. With the CDs, videos and DVDs moving to the new Movies & Music Room, shelving in the Popular Library has been opened up to give people easier access to the fiction collections. The Movies & Music Room features a wireless space with tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy the street view, listen to the music playing in the room, use their wireless laptops, and enjoy the programming taking place in the room. With coffee service open, the Main Library has become a real Uptown destination.
