Services

• Programs for Adults
  The library offers Spanish-speaking adults the opportunity to get together and share books, information and experiences in a warm atmosphere. These discussion groups meet in different locations throughout the county.
• Storytimes for children ages 0 - 5
  Children will be exposed to theatrical activities, music and bilingual storytelling.
• Connections that Count
  A storytime for children ages Birth to 5 years. Children will be exposed to theatrical activities, music and bilingual storytelling in order to prepare them for school.
• Library Deposit
  When your child participates in the Bilingual Storytime, you have access to children’s books that can be circulated in your own neighborhood.
• Spanish Collection
  A collection of books, encyclopedias, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and videos are available in such branches as Scaleybark, Plaza Midwood, West Boulevard, Independence Regional and North County Regional,Sugar Creek,Steele Creek,University City Regional.
• Tutoring for Pre-school Age Children
  Amigos, a group of high school students, offers weekly tutorial sessions in the library branches of Scaleybark, Plaza Midwood, Independence Regional, North County Regional and Mountain Island.
• Computer Classes
  Two hour weekly computer sessions in such programs as: Introduction to computers, Microsoft Word and the Internet.
• Library Tours
  Spanish Guided tours of the Library's facilities and various PLCMC informative materials in Spanish in Spanish are also available.
• StoryPlace
  Visit the Library’s award winning story web site for kids at www.storyplace.org to engage in interactive stories and activities for children of all ages in Spanish and English.
